Job Description
Job Description Grand Industrial is seeking an experienced Commercial Framing Carpenter to join our growing construction team at our current Winamac, IN location. We specialize in commercial construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and interior buildouts for office buildings, retail facilities, schools, healthcare facilities, and other commercial properties. We're looking for dependable carpenters who have experience with wood stud framing, blueprint reading, and commercial construction. What You'll Do As a Commercial Framing Carpenter, you'll play a key role in constructing and remodeling commercial buildings by performing a variety of framing and finish carpentry tasks. Construction & Framing Frame interior walls using wood studs Build partitions, soffits, backing, blocking, and bulkheads Install doors, frames, windows, commercial hardware, and trim Install baseboards, casing, moldings, and other finish carpentry Assist with tenant improvements, remodels, and commercial renovations Perform demolition and reconstruction as projects require Prepare framing for drywall installation Repair and modify existing structures Layout & Blueprint Reading Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications Measure, mark, and lay out materials accurately Verify dimensions and ensure work meets project requirements Work closely with supervisors to complete projects on schedule Tools & Equipment Safely operate hand tools and power tools Cut, assemble, and fasten framing materials using nails, screws, and adhesives Load, unload, and organize building materials Assist with material handling and jobsite setup Work from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts when required Safety & Quality Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite Inspect completed work to ensure quality workmanship Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, drywall installers, and other trades throughout construction What We're Looking For ✔ 2+ years of commercial framing or carpentry experience preferred ✔ Experience framing with wood studs ✔ Experience with commercial remodeling or tenant improvements preferred ✔ Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings ✔ Experience using hand tools and power tools safely ✔ Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship ✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team ✔ Valid Driver's License ✔ Reliable transportation ✔ Basic hand tools ✔ Ability to lift 50+ pounds ✔ Comfortable working from ladders and scaffolding ✔ Weekend or overtime work when project schedules require ✔ Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
