Handyman / Carpenter Assistant - Part Time Anvil & Oak LLC Lexington, KY Job Details Part-time $18 - $25 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Flexible schedule Tools provided Qualifications Construction material handling Residential painting Construction painting Moving Company vehicle operation High school diploma or GED Property maintenance Driver's License Woodworking Full Job Description Anvil & Oak LLC is looking for a reliable, motivated part-time assistant to help with residential carpentry, painting, repairs, maintenance, and small renovation/restoration projects in the Lexington area. This is a hands-on position working alongside the owner and assisting with a wide variety of projects. Previous construction or handyman experience is preferred, but not required . We are willing to train the right person who is dependable, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and able to think through problems.
Pay:
$18-$25/hour, depending on experience and ability
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week Pay frequency: Biweekly Starting location: Lexington, KY, near Richmond Rd. Responsibilities Assist with basic carpentry, painting, repairs, installations, and general handyman work Load, unload, organize, and care for tools and materials Maintain a clean and organized work area Assist with moving furniture and materials when necessary Safely use hand and power tools Follow instructions while also being able to think independently and problem-solve Communicate promptly if running late, unavailable, or if an issue arises on a job Eventually complete appropriate tasks independently as experience and ability develop Requirements Reliable transportation to and from our starting location near Richmond Rd. Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle No DUI history Ability to pass a background check Dependable and punctual Good communication and follow-through Ability to work independently and use good judgment Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work Able to safely lift and move typical tools, materials, and household items Willingness to learn and take direction Respectful and professional when working in clients' homes Company vehicles and tools are provided during the workday. Employees are not expected to provide their own work vehicle or tool collection. Preferred, but not required Experience or basic knowledge involving: Carpentry and trim work Painting and surface preparation Basic home repairs Hand and power tools Furniture assembly Hardware and fixture installation General residential maintenance Growth Opportunity This position has the potential to grow substantially with the company. As experience, trust, and responsibility increase, there may be opportunities to work independently, operate a company-provided vehicle with company-provided tools, complete assigned jobs independently, and eventually take responsibility for additional team members.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
