Job Description

Job Title:
Carpenter / Rod Buster Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter / Rod Buster to join our construction team. This position performs a variety of carpentry and concrete reinforcement tasks on heavy civil, commercial, and federal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience constructing concrete forms, installing reinforcing steel, reading construction plans, and working safely in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities Construct, install, and remove concrete forms for foundations, walls, slabs, footings, and other structures. Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal, and prefabricated formwork systems. Place, tie, and secure reinforcing steel (rebar) according to project drawings and specifications. Install reinforcing mats, dowels, chairs, and embedded items prior to concrete placement. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction plans. Assist with concrete pours, finishing operations, and form stripping activities. Operate hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment safely. Maintain proper housekeeping and organization of work areas. Follow all company safety policies and
OSHA/EM 385-1-1
requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications Previous experience as a carpenter, rod buster, concrete finisher, or related construction trade preferred. Ability to read tape measures and construction drawings. Knowledge of concrete formwork systems and reinforcing steel installation. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Experience on heavy civil, DOT, or USACE projects is a plus. Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing. Ability to work at heights, in excavations, and around heavy equipment. Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods. Benefits Competitive pay based on experience. Overtime opportunities. $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
