Carpenter / Runner Overview Aloise Builders is a licensed and fully insured general contracting firm in the Greater Boston Area specializing in custom home construction and renovations. We are hiring a Carpenter / Runner. This role is a hybrid position combining hands-on carpentry with jobsite support and material logistics. You will work closely with our carpenters performing general carpentry tasks, site preparation, material handling, and supplier runs while helping keep jobsites safe, clean, and organized. This position is great for a carpenter who wants to grow into a lead role over time. Responsibilities Perform general carpentry including framing, trim, blocking, backing, cabinetry support, and punch-list work Assist with demolition, layout, and jobsite preparation Support window and door installations, insulation placement, subfloor prep, and related construction tasks Pick up lumber, hardware, fasteners, and other building materials from suppliers Deliver tools, materials, and equipment to jobsites as needed Load and unload materials and tools safely and efficiently Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized jobsites Build temporary structures such as ramps, staging, or bracing as required Follow direction accurately while also working independently when appropriate Troubleshoot minor field issues and flag larger concerns to the foreperson Communicate professionally and respectfully with coworkers, homeowners, and trade partners Qualifications 2+ years of carpentry or residential construction experience Solid understanding of basic building practices and jobsite workflow Comfort using standard carpentry tools safely and efficiently Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and perform physical tasks Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to take direction Positive attitude and pride in workmanship Spanish or Portuguese language skills helpful but not required Pay & Benefits $25-$40/hr depending on experience 6 paid holidays, 3-5 PTO days, 2 weeks paid vacation Training opportunities available 401(k) retirement plan available after eligibility period Healthcare available after eligibility period Year-round, 40-hour/week schedule with predictable hours (occasional overtime paid at time-and-a-half)
