re:fab is a full-service painting and renovation company based in New England and Florida which services East Coast projects.
re:
fab is looking for experienced carpenters/framers to work as a subcontractor for a large commercial project in Boston MA area framing multiple decks Our objective is to establish relationships with reputable subcontracting firms that maintain employees on payroll and can consistently deliver reliable, high-quality service. In this position, the carpenter will be responsible for all aspects of pricing, building, installing, and repairing structures and other items using different types of materials including wood and other building materials for our commercial and residential renovation division. Our ideal candidate must be familiar with various types of commercial and residential new construction, rough framing, siding, window and door installation and remodeling jobs.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our estimating team on job quotes Measure, mark, and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from re:fab supervisors Cut and shape structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects Join materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed Install windows, doors, cabinets, partitions, moldings, etc. Remodel homes and businesses Perform carpentry work in a neat, organized and timely manner Work with our operations team to obtain permits for construction work to be performed, if needed Work collaboratively with the re:fab estimating and operations team Keep detailed reports of work completed and report daily logs to re:fab team Complete jobs on time and budget Comply with all company policies and procedures, and adhere to company standards and safety program Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines
Qualifications:
Friendly and professional customer service skills Effective communication & writing skills Knowledge of commercial construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials specifications, quality control, and safety Ability to read and understand related construction documents (i.e., blueprints, plans, specs, shop drawings, etc.) CSL license, preferred Must maintain valid Workman's Comp & General Liability insurance on self and crew Disability Insurance Auto Insurance Professional general carpentry experience, at least 2 years Residential framing and remodel experience is a must Knowledge of handicap codes (i.e., AAB, ADA, etc.) preferred Must hold an OSHA 10 card Able to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to work in a face-paced & evolving environment Applicant MUST have own tools and a reliable & insured truck or van to travel to and from job sites
