Wood Framer/Carpenter

BJ'S Service Company Wood Framer/Carpenter New Bedford, MA Apply We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the position of Construction and Framing. This role is vital to our operations and requires a strong understanding of construction processes and framing techniques.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop detailed construction plans including the design of roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels. Fabricate wood components according to specifications and ensure they meet structural integrity standards. Collaborate with engineers and architects to achieve project goals and ensure compliance with building codes. Oversee framing projects from inception to completion, ensuring all timelines and budgets are adhered to. Conduct site visits to assess progress and quality of construction work. Manage materials and equipment used in construction to ensure maximum efficiency and safety on-site. Train and oversee junior staff or interns in construction and framing best practices. Put in place health and safety measures to ensure the safety of all personnel on-site.

Essential Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of construction and framing techniques. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Certification in safety and construction standards (OSHA certification is a plus). Valid driver\'s license and ability to travel to various job sites.

Desired Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction and framing roles. Experience in project management and team leadership. Proven ability to troubleshoot issues on-site and implement effective solutions. Familiarity with construction software and scheduling tools.
