The project involves converting an existing backyard gravel pit into a usable patio-style area with a raised pressure-treated pine walkway, safety railing, and privacy fencing. Scope of Work Raised Walkway Build approximately a 3' × 8' pressure-treated pine plank walkway . Frame and raise the walkway approximately 2½ ft above existing yard grade to meet the gravel-pit level. Provide a safe and stable transition from the yard onto the raised walkway. No stairs are included. Verify final walkway length on site before cutting.
Railing / Fall
Protection Install PT pine side rails on both sides of the raised walkway. Install a wood handrail across the open front of the gravel pit, extending to both sides of the walkway opening. Front opening must remain accessible; do not install railing across the walkway opening . Approximately 31 linear feet of total railing , including walkway side rails. Railing to use the customer-selected ProWood pressure-treated pine deck railing kit with B2E balusters . All railing components should have a consistent natural PT pine appearance. Privacy Fence Install approximately 38 linear feet of 6-ft-tall pressure-treated pine privacy fence . Fence will enclose the left side, back, and right side of the gravel pit. Front-left side remains open. Verify all dimensions and the back jog on site before construction. Fence should match the railing and walkway in material, appearance, and natural PT pine finish. Existing Conditions Existing gravel pit remains in place. Existing timber border remains in place. Gravel-pit surface should remain undisturbed. Contractor should avoid unnecessary damage to surrounding yard or existing structures. Contractor Requirements Experience with decks, raised platforms, wood railings, and privacy fencing. Comfortable working with pressure-treated lumber. Able to perform accurate field measurements and make minor layout adjustments as needed. Must be able to construct a safe raised walkway and fall-protection railing. Reliable transportation and standard carpentry/deck-building tools. Must clean up and haul away construction debris upon completion.
