Job Description

Form Carpenter - Build Landmark Concrete Structures Step into a role where your craftsmanship shapes major, high‑visibility concrete projects — starting with a flagship assignment at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. As a Form Carpenter , you'll work on complex, large‑scale structures while enjoying steady, long‑term opportunities and the flexibility to travel across Baltimore County/City, Anne Arundel County, Howard County, and Frederick County. Your work directly supports the creation of foundations, walls, columns, bridges, and other structural elements that stand the test of time. What You'll Do Build Formwork — Construct and install wood, metal, or plastic forms for foundations, walls, columns, bridges, and other concrete structures. Read Blueprints — Interpret drawings and plans to determine layout, dimensions, and form placement. Measure & Cut Materials — Prepare materials with precision to meet project specifications and tolerances. Erect & Brace Forms — Ensure stability, alignment, and safety before and during concrete placement. Coordinate With Concrete Crews — Work closely with pour teams to time installation, pouring, and stripping. Assist With Concrete Placement — Support finishing and placement to achieve required quality. Install Reinforcement — Place and tie rebar or reinforcement within formwork. Inspect Work — Verify level, plumb, and alignment, making adjustments as needed. Maintain Site Safety — Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area. Travel to Regional Sites — Work across multiple counties as project schedules require. What You Bring 5+ years of form carpentry experience in commercial or heavy civil construction. Strong skill in building formwork for foundations, walls, columns, and structural elements. Experience supporting concrete pours from setup through strip. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Proficiency with wood, metal, and plastic form materials. Experience installing rebar and reinforcement. Knowledge of concrete finishing standards. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple job sites. Bonus Skills Broader construction experience beyond form carpentry. Experience on large or institutional projects. Familiarity with multiple form systems and hardware. Strong attention to detail and pride in high‑quality work. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role involving outdoor work, active construction sites, and close coordination with concrete crews and other trades. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reisterstown, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
