Primary Role:
As a Lead Carpenter, you will be restoring our customers' homes by performing all types of general construction activities. The lead carpenter will work closely with Project Managers while leading other carpenters and sub-contractors. We are looking for someone who: Has 3-5 years of on-the-job experience. Has 2-3 years of team leadership in a construction environment. Has excellent time management, delegation, and multi-tasking skills. Is self-motivated, can work independently and as a team.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of construction and job site safety. Skilled at framing, finish carpentry, flooring and small drywall repairs. Work on job sites daily and always maintain a clean and safe work environment. Communicate technical knowledge and expectations in a professional/effective manner to homeowners who may be unfamiliar with construction terminology and process. Communicate with Project Manager daily to ensure projects are on track. Oversee 2-4 team members - ensure high quality of work and set clear expectations. Work to develop carpenters and other team members.
Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in construction management and construction tasks preferred. High school diploma/GED. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. Capability to work at ceiling heights, climb ladders, and in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics). Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods. Willingness to travel locally and out of state when necessary. Successful completion of background check per applicable law.
