Commercial Carpenter / Skilled Laborer About the Opportunity We are seeking motivated Commercial Carpenters and Skilled Laborers to join a growing construction and renovation team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced carpenters as well as mechanically inclined individuals who are eager to learn the carpentry trade through hands-on experience. The team specializes in renovating existing commercial buildings throughout the Great Lakes region. Employees work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment that encourages skill development, career advancement, and long-term growth within the construction industry. This position requires regular travel throughout the work week, including overnight stays, while weekends are generally spent at home. Position Summary The Commercial Carpenter / Skilled Laborer will assist with commercial renovation projects, including demolition, framing, finish work, repairs, and general construction tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, take pride in craftsmanship, and are looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction. Key Responsibilities Perform commercial building renovation and remodeling projects. Assist with demolition, framing, drywall installation, trim work, flooring, and finish carpentry. Install fixtures, doors, cabinetry, and other building components. Read and interpret construction drawings and work orders (training provided as needed). Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Work collaboratively with project managers, foremen, and fellow team members. Travel to project sites throughout the Great Lakes region, including overnight stays during the work week. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines. Continuously develop construction and carpentry skills through on-the-job training. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel during the week, including overnight stays. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Preferred Previous carpentry, construction, remodeling, maintenance, or skilled labor experience. Experience using common hand and power tools. Ability to read tape measures and perform basic construction measurements. Experience with commercial construction or renovation projects is a plus.
