Our smaller size means we are flexible, focused on local projects and invested in the performance of our people. We are seeking a Commercial Carpenter to perform consistent, steady work on a variety of commercial projects throughout mid-Michigan. Projects include multiple schools in the Lansing area with prevailing wage requirements.
Responsibilities:
Shaping, cutting, and fitting materials to specified measurements using hand or power tools. Ability to set up, organize, and take responsibility for the job. Completing a daily accounting of all equipment, tools, and materials. Assess what is needed on a project and identify risks and dependencies. Familiarity with building codes and safety requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans and perform layout for framing, ceilings, casework, and more.
Skills and Qualifications:
2 years minimum commercial carpentry experience required Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds. Must have reliable transportation. This is a "Fair Chance" job (learn more at https://start.indeed.com/fair-chance)
