Job Description
Frazer Building Company, a family-owned, full-service construction company, is looking for a skilled and versatile Carpenter. This role involves working on diverse projects such as remodeling, new home builds and finish carpentry, This position requires a dedicated professional capable of delivering quality craftsmanship across various construction tasks while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Candidates should be prepared to work on challenging projects in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities and duties Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, metal, and other materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines or power saws Construct walls and beams, install windows, doors, flooring, trim, cabinetry, and other finish work Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently Inspect and repair existing frameworks or structures as needed Ensure work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site Report material needs, damages, or project issues to the supervisor Work with the Superintendent to ensure correct scope of work and customer expectations Fabricate custom components as needed for specific projects Ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner Maintain good relationships with customers Collaborate with skilled team of fellow craftsmen Perform other duties as assigned Education and Experience Apprenticeship program and/or minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience in construction site work with a focus on carpentry and remodeling Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and other construction equipment Prior experience installing cabinetry, windows, doors and trim Excellent problem-solving and mathematical skills Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Strong understanding of safety standards relevant to construction environments Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions Professional interpersonal skills Must have a valid driver's license Must be available to work in St. Clair County Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Paid time off Quarterly attendance bonus $200 yearly boot allowance Simple IRA retirement plan with 3% company match Work vehicle and tools provided Opportunities for advancement and training Physical/Sensory/Mental Demands Consistently standing, bending, lifting and climbing for extended periods Willingness to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions Comfortable on ladders and carrying heavy loads Remembering details
