Job Description

Carpenter / Set Builder / Creative Farm Builder DeBuck's Family Farm is looking for a skilled and dependable individual to help build photo opportunities, themed sets, small wooden buildings, signs, displays, and other unique projects around our farm. This position is ideal for someone with experience in carpentry, woodworking, theatrical set building, scenic construction, or custom fabrication. Our projects are often one-of-a-kind, so creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to turn an idea or sketch into a finished structure are important. Responsibilities Build themed sets and immersive displays for seasonal farm events Construct photo opportunities, backdrops, facades, and decorative structures Build small wooden buildings, booths, walls, signs, and other structures Create projects that are visually appealing, durable, and safe for guests Measure, cut, assemble, paint, finish, and install wood materials Work from basic plans, sketches, photographs, or creative concepts Help develop practical ways to turn ideas into finished sets and displays Repair, modify, and improve existing structures and attractions Keep tools, materials, and work areas organized Complete projects safely, accurately, and on schedule Assist with other farm construction and maintenance projects as needed Qualifications Experience with carpentry, woodworking, construction, set building, scenic construction, or a related trade Comfortable using saws, drills, nail guns, sanders, and other woodworking tools Ability to build from sketches, pictures, measurements, or general concepts Strong attention to detail and pride in your finished work Creative problem-solving skills Ability to measure and cut materials accurately Dependable and able to work independently Ability to lift and carry building materials Comfortable working indoors and outdoors Reliable transportation is required Experience building theatrical sets, haunted attractions, festival displays, retail displays, escape rooms, trade-show booths, or themed entertainment environments is a plus, but not required. Schedule Approximately 30-40 hours per week Schedule may vary depending on current projects and upcoming farm events Some flexibility may be available Compensation Pay is based on experience and skill level. About the Position This is not repetitive production work. You will help create one-of-a-kind sets, attractions, photo opportunities, and structures that thousands of families will see and enjoy at DeBuck's Family Farm. We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing creative ideas to life and takes pride in making every finished project look professional.
