Job Description

Position Summary The Carpenter is responsible for demonstrating the highest level of carpentry skills, ensuring jobsite safety, and maintaining consistent contact with Foreman/Project Management. This role must uphold company policies and procedures while delivering quality craftmanship and customer satisfaction through efficient work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform carpentry tasks as directed by supervisor for residential and light commercial construction. Possess basic carpentry skills and knowledge of tool usage and equipment. Be receptive to learning Lighthouse's building processes and training techniques. Maintain jobsite safety, uphold all job site rules, and ensure proper maintenance of company tools. Maintain regular contact with Project Management/Supervisor throughout the duration of projects and provide updates as requested. Be open to understanding and learning to read, interpret, and act upon project documentation including plans, specifications, scope of work, change orders, and cost updates. Report any discrepancies or unusual conditions to the Foreman/Project Manager. Proactively communicate with the Project Manager regarding the scope of work and any requests for additional work. Work efficiently to complete tasks to assist in maintaining project schedules. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Perform multiple tasks simultaneously using a variety of carpentry equipment including saws, sanders, and both power and hand tools. Be open to understanding and learning all aspects of the building process, including rough and finished carpentry tasks from start to finish, including new construction, maintenance, and repair. Assist in maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with building, health, and safety codes. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in both property owner's sites and company areas such as vehicles, trailers, and warehouses. Build positive customer service relationships with property owners, project team members, and internal staff. Be open to understanding and learning to read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and diagrams; perform necessary mathematical calculations and follow oral instructions. Communicate effectively, treating customers with courtesy and professionalism and immediately reporting any concerns to management. Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company dress code and safety standards. Demonstrate good communication and share knowledge with the team. Display an interest and desire to learn more about carpentry and related building trades, continuously learning new skills. Perform physically demanding tasks consistently, including lifting up to 100 pounds. Participate in meetings and professional development opportunities as required. Work with new staff as needed and support the company's success with all actions reflecting honesty and integrity. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, providing leadership and representing the company's principles professionally. Perform all other duties as required or requested by management.
Education and Experience:

High School Diploma Experience:
Knowledge of principles, procedures, and terminology used in the carpentry trade, and tools and materials used in custom carpentry. Familiarity with methods and procedures in building construction, repair, and remodeling. Construction management training and/or experience is beneficial.
