Job Description

Position Overview Piper Carpentry is seeking experienced Commercial Finish Carpenters to join our growing team. We're looking for experienced commercial carpenters who are versatile, dependable, and take pride in producing quality work. Our crews aren't divided into "trim guys" or "door guys." We build teams of carpenters who are willing and able to work across multiple aspects of commercial finish construction. Our projects are located throughout Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and surrounding states. Regional travel is required, with employees home daily or weekly depending on the project and the employee's preference. Travel pay options are available. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and can produce quality installations while maintaining the pace required on commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities Install:
Multifamily finish carpentry including base, casing, trim, shelving, cabinets, and millwork. Commercial wood and hollow metal doors, frames, and finish hardware. Toilet partitions and toilet accessories. Wall protection. Mirrors. Lockers. Fire extinguisher cabinets. Signage. Other Division 10 specialties. You'll also : Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals. Understand hardware schedules and manufacturer installation requirements. Identify installation conflicts before they become project delays. Communicate professionally with project managers, superintendents, suppliers, manufacturers, and fellow trades. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Help mentor apprentices and less experienced carpenters when needed. What We're Looking For We're looking for experienced commercial carpenters who can confidently work across multiple aspects of finish construction.
The ideal candidate:
Has commercial construction experience—not just residential. Can install finish carpentry, commercial doors and hardware, and Division 10 specialties. Reads plans, specifications, and submittals with confidence. Pays close attention to detail without sacrificing productivity. Understands that commercial construction requires both quality workmanship and production efficiency. Can identify and solve installation problems with minimal supervision. Is dependable, organized, and communicates well with coworkers and customers. Takes pride in doing the job right the first time. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of commercial finish carpentry experience required. Experience installing Division 6, Division 8, and Division 10 products. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals. Working knowledge of commercial doors and hardware. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. OSHA 10 Certification required. Background check required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Willingness to travel (regional travel required). Preferred Qualifications Experience working on multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, education, or other commercial construction projects. Experience coordinating with manufacturers to resolve installation questions. Experience completing punch lists and project closeouts. Ability to train and mentor apprentices. $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
