Staffing has immediate openings for First Class Joiners in Pascagoula, MS for shipbuilding work Responsibilities of the
Shipyard Joiner:
Fabricate, assemble, install and repair bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior wood finishes, cabin accessories, wood and metal deck structures. Refer to prints, diagrams, and sketches to properly mount of furniture, racks and bins, partition bulkheads, decorative ceilings, and false decks, as well as other outfitting items. Operate a variety of shop, hand and power tools as required Perform tacking
  • Tacker Certification Test required Ability to work in shipyard production areas that involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shift schedules Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience working as a joiner, carpenter, shipfitting, or sheetmetal mechanic or similar trades experience Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of tooling, fabrication equipment, and machines Ability to pass tacking certification test Basic math, reading and comprehension skills Knowledge of the layouts, fit-up, fabrication and installation Experience reading and interpreting trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements High School Diploma, GED, or Trades Certification
