Job Description

SUMMARY The Experienced Carpenter is a construction professional responsible for working with a variety of species of wood and other materials to build and repair structures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations, and invoke a culture of safety by holding all parties involved responsible for site safety.
  • Prepare building areas to perform tasks, such as removing snow from surfaces and job site.
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saws.
  • Clean up debris from job site to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the job Site Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school degree or equivalent required; post-secondary technical education preferred.
  • 2-4 years of luxury trim carpentry experience required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail & experience working in southwest Montana required.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses or buildings, as well as design techniques and procedures.
  • Reasoning ability, common sense and good math skills are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including cold, wind, snow, heat, and other extreme conditions.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and lifting, up to 4 hours at a time and 9 hours per day.
  • Excellent manual dexterity for use of common construction tools and equipment.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for conversations and to receive ordinary information and/or to review statements and manage payments.
  • Occasionally able to lift up to 50 pounds; frequently able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay:
From $30.00 per hour
