Carpenter Job Description This role involves performing a wide range of carpentry and general construction tasks on both commercial and residential projects. You will construct, install, and repair building structures and fixtures, work from blueprints, and use a variety of hand and power tools to complete high-quality work safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform carpentry work on walls, doors, and windows for commercial and residential builds. Measure and cut wood, siding, and other materials to precise specifications. Hang drywall and install exterior and interior siding according to project requirements. Read and interpret blueprints and apply them accurately to project tasks. Install cabinets and other built-in structures and fixtures in buildings. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on a daily basis. Use measuring tapes frequently to ensure accurate measurements and cuts. Assist with general construction duties as needed to support the project team. Lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on the job site. Contribute to framing, finish carpentry, and drywall work as required for each project. Support commercial construction activities, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. Demonstrate leadership on site by working efficiently, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting teammates. Essential Skills At least 1 year of carpentry experience. Ability to read and accurately use measuring tapes. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. Hands-on experience in general construction and carpentry. Proficiency in framing and structural carpentry tasks. Ability to perform finish carpentry work with attention to detail. Experience working on commercial construction projects. Skill in hanging drywall and installing siding. Ability to read and work from blueprints. Proficient use of a variety of hand tools and power tools. Comfort working outdoors in different types of weather conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in both residential and commercial construction environments. Experience in finish carpentry, including trim, cabinets, and detailed woodwork. Ability to take initiative and demonstrate leadership on job sites. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Reliable work ethic with the flexibility to work overtime when needed Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime may occur after the regular shift and continue until the day's work is completed, with very limited overtime on Saturdays and most weekends off. Work takes place primarily outdoors on active construction sites, so you will work in a variety of weather conditions. The role requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and daily use of hand and power tools, as well as frequent measuring and cutting tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $32.00/hr.
