Job Description

Bozeman Window is hiring an experienced Crew Lead to run residential window and door installation projects in the Bozeman area. This is a toolbags-on leadership role. You will lead installations, direct crew members and subcontractors, solve field problems, maintain quality standards, and perform skilled installation and carpentry alongside the team. We are looking for someone who knows how to take ownership of a jobsite, keep work moving, and deliver excellent finished work without constant supervision. What You'll Do Lead residential window and door installation projects from jobsite setup through final cleanup Direct crew members, helpers, and subcontractors throughout the workday Perform skilled demolition, installation, flashing, sealing, trim carpentry, siding repair, and finish work Review project scope, measurements, materials, and installation details before work begins Maintain a productive pace while protecting workmanship and customer property Identify field conditions, communicate problems early, and help develop practical solutions Coordinate daily jobsite activities with the project manager and company owner Confirm that materials, tools, and equipment are ready for each phase of work Enforce safe work practices and maintain an organized jobsite Inspect completed work and correct deficiencies before the project is considered finished Communicate professionally with customers when questions arise onsite Take responsibility for the performance, conduct, and output of the crew What We're Looking For Substantial experience in carpentry work, including framing, siding, interior trim, and window installation Experience leading crews, subcontractors, or construction projects Ability to read scopes of work, measurements, product instructions, and construction details Strong understanding of water management, flashing, air sealing, siding, and building-envelope principles Ability to solve problems independently and make sound field decisions High standards for workmanship, cleanliness, and customer service Strong communication and leadership skills Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Ability to safely lift windows, doors, tools, and construction materials Ability to work at heights Willingness to work outdoors in changing Montana weather The Right Person You may be a strong fit if you: Take ownership instead of waiting to be managed Set the pace and expect others to keep up Catch problems before they become expensive, and have a solutions-orientation (we don't seek blame here) Are detail-oriented Can lead firmly without creating unnecessary conflict Treat customers, homes, and coworkers with respect Stay productive when conditions change Want responsibility, authority, and the opportunity to grow with a growing company What This Role Is Not This is not a position for someone who needs constant direction, avoids difficult work, or considers "good enough" to be the standard. The Crew Lead is expected to think ahead, work efficiently, hold the crew accountable, and help deliver professional results on every project. Compensation and Schedule Full-time position
Compensation:
$35-$45/hour Performance-based bonus opportunities Typical schedule: 7:30-4:30, Monday through Friday Most projects are located in Gallatin county - Bozeman and the surrounding area Occasional travel may be required for regional projects About Bozeman Window Bozeman Window is a locally owned window replacement contractor serving homeowners throughout the Bozeman area.
