Job Description
At Compact Cottages, we're more than just a construction company - we're visionaries dedicated to solving the affordable housing crisis. With our own prefabricated construction factory and a commitment to innovation, we're revolutionizing the way homes are built. We are seeking experienced carpenters to join our growing team. If you take pride in quality work and want to be part of something meaningful, this is your opportunity! Key Responsibilities
- Frame exterior and interior walls according to plans and layout, both in the factory and in the field. Because we have a factory, we are able to pre-fabricate walls and house components inside our factory so our schedule is rarely affected by weather.
- Install siding (primarily LP SmartSide and Miratec) to a high standard of quality and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
- Frame decking, stairs, handrails, and other carpentry tasks.
- Ensure high standards of quality and durability in all work performed.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Collaborate with team members and follow direction from site supervisors.
- Load, transport, and stage materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site. Qualifications
- 1+ Years of residential framing and/or siding experience preferred, but if you have experience working with your hands, we can train you in our methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Physical work is a core part of this role. Team members must be able to safely lift and move materials (up to 75 lbs), use proper lifting techniques, and work in a physically active environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (but not required) What We're Looking For
