Job Description

This position performs at a journey level for all of the carpentry duties associated with, but not limited to, the maintenance, alteration, and repair of University facilities, furnishings, and equipment. This is a mandatory position as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event policy. Mandatory employees are expected to report to or remain at work during adverse weather and emergency events and, if deemed necessary, to work a different schedule or shift than normally assigned. This position may also be required to participate in the On-Call and Emergency Callback program as outlined in the Facilities Operations Standard Operating Procedure. Minimum Qualifications

OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK. OPTIONAL GUIDELINES
EXPERIENCE
IN THE TRADE AREAS RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT MAY BE SUBSTITUTED ON A YEAR-FOR-YEAR BASIS.
Additional Requirements Valid driver's license Additional certification in operation of a 60 foot aerial work platform lift Preferred Qualifications Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the carpentry trade, including making and installing cabinets. Have an excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. Be proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.). Have an ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches. Having previous work experience in a University setting would also be beneficial.
