Company Overview Viking Yacht Company is a family-owned and operated business renowned for its leadership in designing and manufacturing high-end, semi-custom fiberglass yachts. Specializing in luxury and performance sport fishing yachts ranging from 37 to 92 feet, the company prides itself on craftsmanship, quality, and customer satisfaction. Position Summary The Carpenter (Production) performs carpentry and woodworking tasks in support of yacht manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for constructing, assembling, modifying, and installing wood components, fixtures, templates, and supports used throughout the production process. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works efficiently to production schedules, and consistently maintains Viking Yacht Company quality standards. Duties & Responsibilities Perform carpentry and woodworking tasks in support of production line operations. Construct, assemble, and modify wooden components, fixtures, cradles, jigs, templates, and structural supports used in the manufacturing process. Measure, cut, fit, and install materials accurately using work orders, drawings, and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and work instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, saws, routers, sanders, and other woodworking equipment safely and effectively. Inspect completed work for craftsmanship, fit, finish, and compliance with company quality standards. Support production schedules by completing assigned work efficiently and accurately. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area always. Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and other departments to support efficient manufacturing operations. Assist with problem-solving and adjustments when production or design changes occur. Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and quality standards.
Work Schedule Standard Schedule:
Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shifts
Overtime:
As needed based on production demands Requirements for the Position Strong carpentry and woodworking skills Ability to read tape measures, drawings, and specifications accurately Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to work with hand and power tools safely Ability to work independently and as part of a production team Ability to adapt to changing production priorities Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Prior carpentry, woodworking, cabinetmaking, or millwork experience Experience using hand and power tools Preferred Experience in marine manufacturing, cabinetry, or production carpentry Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings Experience building templates, jigs, and custom supports Physical Demands & Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and wood components Exposure to sawdust, noise, vibration, and production environments Use of PPE always required Drug & Alcohol Viking Yacht Company is a drug-free workplace.
