General Purpose:
Assure quality construction of project. Responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel. Framing and Finish Carpentry (Cabinetry & Interior Trim/Millwork) experience a BIG plus. We have a culture of top-quality work for our clients which represents the work ethic of everyone on our team.
Essential Duties:
Interpret and construct projects according to plans. Maintain assigned primary tools Working in an efficient, neat and orderly manner while in customers' homes. Maintaining a high standard of customer service and customer relationships. Communication with management regarding scheduling, start & completion of job. Job safety, cleanliness and appropriate image (uniforms to be worn, no loud music or profanity). Communication with the home owner and the Carpentry Dept. Notify management about 'Change Orders' for any work not specified in scope of work All papers & receipts are to be completed & turned in to the office, weekly if not daily.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED 3-5 years knowledge & experience in building & carpentry with emphasis on rough and finish carpentry and experience in installing cabinetry. Ability to read and understand plans and specifications Ability to read, analyze & interpret common technical journals. Ability to calculate figures & amounts and apply to practical situations. Ability to apply common sense in solving practical problems.
Physical Demands:
Majority of time requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, use of hands and climbing or balancing. Must be able to work from heights and ladders. Majority time requires lifting up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs and sometimes more than 100 lbs with assistance. Work environment includes outdoor weather conditions and loud equipment. I.e. saws, nail guns.
Requirements:
Knowledgeable (or trainable) in all aspects of carpentry including both rough & finish.
Math Skills:
Basic math is used every day by carpenters.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Not every job is the same, and carpenters need to be able to adjust plans to compensate for any environmental issues that come up. Must take pride in workmanship never short-cutting the process Must maintain a professional clean appearance, good personal hygiene, well-spoken, and comfortable interacting with homeowners. Sense of humor is a must. Must be able to pass background and drug/alcohol screening Ability and disposition to lead others and work independently. Valid driving license
