Job Title:
Carpenter's Helper Job Description Join our team as a Carpenter's Helper, where you will assist in the construction and repair of modular office units used on job sites. These units serve as offices for field supervisors and crews, constructed within large storage containers. We seek dedicated individuals to become a permanent part of our growing team, contributing to new construction, office outfitting, and field repairs. Responsibilities Construct and assemble modular office units according to blueprints, ensuring the integrity of walls, floors, ceilings, and other structural components. Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials with precision. Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to complete projects efficiently. Perform maintenance and repairs on existing modular office units. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience as a carpenter's helper or handyman in commercial or residential construction. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training program. Proven experience in modular construction is preferred. Good physical stamina and strength. Work Environment Work alongside a team of 6-8 production associates in a dynamic environment. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. You will be working in the yard or covered trailers while in the production area, with reliable transportation required for daily reporting to the shop. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
