Position Summary The Drywall Hanger is responsible for installing gypsum wallboard on walls and ceilings in commercial construction projects. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a strong understanding of commercial drywall installation practices, including layout, fastening methods, and industry standards. Successful candidates demonstrate craftsmanship, maintain a safe work environment, and work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow tradespeople to deliver high-quality finished products. Essential Responsibilities Install drywall on walls and ceilings according to project plans and specifications. Measure, cut, scribe, and fit drywall panels for proper installation. Understand and follow commercial drywall installation techniques and industry standards. Interpret construction drawings and layout requirements. Install drywall in accordance with applicable fire-rated and acoustical assemblies, including UL-rated systems. Safely operate lifts, scaffolding, and other jobsite equipment as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Coordinate with foremen and other trades to maintain project schedules. Identify and communicate installation issues before they become project delays. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of commercial drywall hanging experience required. Experience operating scissor lifts and working from scaffolding preferred. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction mathematics. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry drywall materials and perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
