Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heavy/Highway Carpenter to join our construction team, specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging highway, bridge, and heavy civil construction sites. As a Heavy/Highway Carpenter, you will be instrumental in executing complex carpentry tasks that ensure the safety, durability, and quality of our projects. Your expertise will help bring innovative infrastructure solutions to life, contributing to community development and transportation improvements. Duties Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans. Install rebar reinforcement for concrete structures, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards. Construct formwork for concrete pouring, including framing and shaping to achieve precise dimensions and finishes. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and assembling structural components. Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, sealing, and applying protective coatings to ensure high-quality surfaces. Handle heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely during site preparation, demolition, or material placement activities. Assist with masonry work, metal stud framing, stucco application, roofing installation, and other related renovation tasks as needed. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on heavy civil or highway projects. Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools operation. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision. Skilled in rebar installation, concrete forming, finishing techniques, and masonry work. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and material take-offs is a plus. Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, scaffolding, welding, and equipment operation.
