The Cleary Company, an award-winning design-build remodeling firm located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. As the Lead Carpenter, you will manage and execute high-quality residential construction projects. You will report to the Project Manager and oversee a team of craftsman, sub-contractors, coordinate tasks, and ensure that all work meets our company's quality standards and client expectations. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance technical carpentry skills with project management. Pay will be based on experience. This is a full-time in-person position.Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Work with the Project Manager to plan, organize, execute and/or supervise all construction and carpentry tasks from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project specifications.Team Leadership:
Lead a crew of carpenters, providing direction, training, and support to ensure efficiency and quality workmanship.Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide construction processes accurately.Quality Control:
Inspect work throughout the project to guarantee the highest standards of craftsmanship and compliance with building codes.Material Management:
Estimate material requirements, order supplies, and manage inventory to keep projects on track and within budget.Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot construction challenges on-site and implement effective solutions promptly.Safety Compliance:
Promote and enforce a safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.Communication:
Be part of the communication plan for clients, subcontractors, and other trades, maintaining clear and professional communication.Self-Motivated and Results-Driven:
Possesses a strong desire to complete projects efficiently and on time, while maintaining a positive attitude that inspires and motivates the team to continuously improve. Pay based on experienceRequirements:
Requirements Extensive Carpentry Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in using carpentry tools, equipment, and materials. Skilled in demolition, framing, basic HVAC/electrical/plumbing, drywall finishing, painting, flooring, window and door installation, and custom woodwork.Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.Project Management:
Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects concurrently.Leadership:
Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to train and mentor junior carpenters.Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills to address and resolve on-site issues effectively. Attention toDetail:
Committed to high-quality, precise work; respects client property by protecting belongings; maintains a professional appearance and behavior on all job sites.Communication:
