Your Impact As a Carpenter Assistant , you'll support carpenters and field leadership while learning the fundamentals of commercial construction. This role provides structured on‑the‑job training and exposure to a wide range of carpentry tasks under supervision. Learn the
Trade:
Participate in on‑the‑job training and Benchmark University development opportunities, including safety and skill‑building courses.
Support Carpentry Work:
Assist with layout, framing, forming, demolition, and installation of interior and exterior finishes under supervision.
Material Prep & Handling:
Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials using hand and power tools as directed.
Quality & Safety:
Follow all safety policies, use PPE, and support quality workmanship standards at all times.
Jobsite Readiness:
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite; identify hazards and report concerns promptly.
Grow & Develop:
Work closely with experienced carpenters, learning techniques, tools, and expectations that support long‑term career growth. What You Bring (Experiences & Qualifications) Above all, you are hungry, humble, and people-smart.
Relevant Experience:
Brings at least one (1) year of construction experience, vocational training, or technical school coursework, or an equivalent level of hands‑on exposure.
Career Interest:
Demonstrates genuine interest in building a long‑term career in commercial construction or the skilled trades.
Communication Skills:
Able to understand, follow, and act on verbal and written instructions in English.
Tool Familiarity:
Possesses a basic understanding of hand and power tools or shows a strong willingness to learn proper and safe use.
Dependability:
Maintains reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
