Job Title:
Lead Carpenter / Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installer Hiring Lead Carpenter / Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installers - Travel Opportunity | Competitive Pay + Benefits! Job Description We are seeking experienced Lead Carpenters / Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installers to install, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment while performing rough and finish carpentry on new construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong construction experience, the ability to read blueprints, and the leadership skills to manage small job sites while delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Install commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, ventilation systems, and related appliances. Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, cabinetry, trim work, and demolition as needed. Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to ensure accurate installations. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment and systems. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Coordinate with customers and project stakeholders throughout installations. Lead small projects and manage daily job site activities. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards. Maintain accurate installation, maintenance, and repair documentation. Travel throughout the assigned territory to complete installation and renovation projects. Skills & Qualifications Strong commercial construction and carpentry experience. Experience with rough carpentry, finish carpentry, framing, and cabinetry. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans. Experience installing commercial kitchen equipment or similar mechanical systems. Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. High school diploma or GED required. CFESA, NATE, trade school training, or related certifications are a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work is performed primarily at commercial kitchens and construction sites throughout a territory spanning New York City to Washington, DC . Projects typically last 2-3 days and include restaurants, universities, hospitals, stadiums, retail food locations, and corporate facilities. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday with a 7:00 AM start time , with occasional overtime and weekend work. This role requires frequent travel, lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in active construction environments while following strict safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position covering the New York City to Washington, DC territory . Pay and Benefits Pay is based on experience.
