• 4 pm We are seeking a skilled finishing carpenter to lead and manage the construction of high-quality homes.

This role requires someone who can arrive promptly in the morning, review and ensure the accuracy of plans, and effectively communicate them to the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality of homes, training the team, and managing the production line from a high-end perspective.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the construction team, splitting them into Rough lead and Finish lead sections. Ensure plans are accurate and effectively communicate them to the team. Oversee the quality of homes and train the team to meet high standards. Take charge of five workspaces, providing hands-on support and training when necessary. Maintain production schedules from tape/texture to completion. Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in the building process.

Essential Skills:

Extensive experience in building homes from start to finish. Strong communication and supervisory skills. Proficiency in carpentry and blueprint reading. Ability to focus on efficiency and quality standards. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Leadership experience with a profit-sharing plan. Experience with quality standards and supervisory roles. Ability to teach and train others in construction techniques. Why Work Here? Work Environment:

Work hours are typically 7-4 or 8-5, depending on the season. Construction will take place in a hoop building, sheltered from wind and rain but not fully temperature controlled. The initial focus will be on building three spec homes, with plans to quickly ramp up staff and production to achieve the goal of completing a home in one week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00
