Program Summary:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs, and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Parsons is seeking a skilled General Construction Carpenter - Field Fabrication and Installation to support facility modifications, custom fabrication, and equipment installation at Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control Towers, tower cabs, and Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities nationwide. This is a 100% travel, field-based position requiring frequent travel and extended stays at project locations. The successful candidate will conduct site surveys, take accurate measurements, document existing conditions, fabricate or modify components, and complete on-site installations •
What You'll Be Doing:
•+ Travel nationwide to Federal Aviation Administration FAA Air Traffic Control Towers, tower cabs, Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities, and other assigned locations. + Support site surveys and evaluate existing conditions. + Build, fabricate, modify, assemble, and install equipment enclosures, support structures, panels, platforms, and other installation infrastructure. + Plan and layout work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, models, layouts, or work instructions to complete field tasks. + Perform measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembly to support equipment and systems installation. + Coordinate with field teams to prepare and adapt installation spaces. + Comply with FAA and Parsons safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site Risk Management Plans. + Adhere to physical and information security requirements at FAA facilities. •
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
•+ High School diploma or equivalent. + Five or more years of experience in industrial carpentry, commercial construction, field fabrication, equipment installation, or facility modification. + Experience fabricating, modifying, assembling, and installing equipment enclosures, support structures, panels, platforms, or similar infrastructure components. + Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, layouts, and installation instructions. + Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. + Ability to fabricate and install assemblies accurately and safely. + Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and work in active field settings. + Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by federal authorities will be performed. •
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
•+ Experience supporting equipment or infrastructure installation projects. + Journeyman carpenter certification, apprenticeship completion, trade-school training, military construction training, or equivalent practical experience. + Familiarity with building enclosures, supports, and installation-ready structures. + Ability to work with installers, engineers, and site teams. + Experience in FAA, aviation, federal, or other mission-critical environments. + Experience working in or around tower cabs, FAA facilities, equipment areas, or specialized operational facilities. + Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.) and strong field problem-solving ability. + Strong independent work habits and practical field judgment. •

Salary Range:
