Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Carpenter Journeyman to join our dynamic construction team. The work is in Valero Corpus Christi Refinery and is 8 weeks long working 4 - 10 hour days. In this role, you will leverage your extensive carpentry expertise to execute complex industrial projects, including concrete forming, rebar installation, and renovation work. Your mechanical knowledge and proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools will ensure precision and quality in every task. As a key contributor, you will work on commercial and industrial sites, interpreting blueprints and schematics to deliver durable, safe, and compliant structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your craftsmanship while contributing to large-scale construction initiatives that make a lasting impact. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide construction activities. Construct, install, and repair concrete forms, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment for concrete pouring. Install rebar reinforcement in foundations, walls, and other structures following safety standards and project specifications. Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and lifting machinery safely and efficiently on-site. Execute finishing tasks including concrete smoothing, plastering, caulking, and tile laying to achieve high-quality results. Utilize hand tools and power tools skillfully for cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing various materials. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while working on construction sites involving heavy lifting and equipment operation. Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining quality standards. Requirements Proven experience as an industrial carpenter or journeyman with a strong background in commercial construction projects. Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques including concrete forming, . Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (drills, grinders) safely and effectively. Familiarity with rebar installation procedures and masonry work including tile laying and metal stud framing. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required by the job site. Strong commitment to safety standards along with excellent teamwork skills.
