OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Following the chain of command INTENT The Carpenter is responsible for the successful completion of the job.
This includes being on time & maintaining a high level of quality. In addition to being an excellent framing & finish carpenter, he/she should exhibit good judgment, high ethical standards, good oral & written communication skills & show strong leadership abilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • You are responsible for knowing and understanding all job paperwork, plans, specifications and change orders. Any questions you have or discrepancies you discover should be checked with the project manager.
  • You are responsible for accurately checking all materials delivered to your job for quantity and measurements, as well as damage.
  • Job safety for both the client and our workers is your responsibility. Be sure that job conditions encourage safety. Monitor both company and individual equipment for proper safety features, safe electrical cords etc., and informs the project manager of any unsafe conditions. Proper safety equipment (harnesses, safety glasses, ear protection) must be used per OSHA requirements.
  • The Project Manager will develop the project schedules.
The lead carpenter will review the schedules and maintain all project schedules weekly to ensure your job is on schedule or ahead of schedule, monitor your progress against the schedule and notify the project manager as soon as possible of any delays, conditions or subcontractor no-shows that will affect the schedule.
