Commercial Construction Specialist (+$30/HR) Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Commercial Construction Specialist, where you will play an integral role in the installation of metal framing, drywall, insulation systems, and acoustical ceiling tiles. Utilize your expertise to ensure project specifications and quality standards are met. Responsibilities Install 16-gauge cold-formed metal framing in accordance with project specifications and construction drawings. Hang, tape, mud, and finish drywall to achieve the required finish levels. Install RF foil and related insulation or barrier systems as specified. Install acoustical ceiling tile (ACT) grid systems and ceiling tiles. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project layouts. Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately to maintain quality standards. Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely. Essential Skills Proven experience with commercial metal stud framing and drywall installation. In-depth knowledge of drywall finishing techniques and industry standards. Experience installing acoustical ceiling systems (ACT). Ability to read construction drawings and specifications. Proficiency with construction hand tools and power tools. Physical ability to lift materials, work from ladders/scaffolds, and perform physically demanding tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Carpentry skills. Interior construction expertise. Work Environment Work in commercial construction job sites with both indoor and outdoor conditions, depending on the project phase. Expect frequent standing, lifting, bending, climbing, and overhead work. Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Work hours are 6 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reston, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
