This position leads carpenters and laborers in the safe, efficient, and quality execution of projects while ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and company safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and direct crews engaged in heavy civil construction activities. Plan, organize, and coordinate daily work assignments to meet production schedules. Interpret and work from construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project plans. Layout, construct, and oversee installation of concrete forms for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, and other structures. Ensure proper placement, alignment, and finishing of concrete structures. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maximize productivity. Monitor work quality to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and production challenges. Track crew productivity and maintain daily reports, time records, and material usage logs. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and inspectors. Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to improve performance and skill development. Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safe operating conditions. Assist with scheduling and workforce planning as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil carpentry experience. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or foreman experience. Extensive knowledge of concrete formwork systems, bridge construction, and heavy civil projects. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and construction best practices. Ability to operate construction tools, equipment, and layout instruments. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DOT, municipal, or federal construction projects. OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification. CPR/First Aid certification. Experience with gang forms, wall forms, shoring, falsework, and bridge form systems. Knowledge of surveying and construction layout techniques. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to work at heights, around heavy equipment, and in excavation environments. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and occasional night shifts as project demands require. Work Environment Construction job sites including highways, bridges, utility installations, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions. Frequent interaction with construction personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, and project management staff.
