Job Summary Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman Apex Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced construction professional to join our growing team as a Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman. This is a hands-on leadership position. We're looking for someone who can lead a crew, maintain high standards of craftsmanship, and work alongside the team every day. The right candidate is organized, dependable, and takes pride in delivering quality work. We specialize in custom homes, additions, renovations, decks, and high-quality residential construction throughout Southern Vermont. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a residential construction crew. Coordinate daily jobsite activities while ensuring projects stay on schedule. Read and interpret construction plans. Perform framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, deck construction, and other skilled carpentry work. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite. Train and mentor less experienced team members. Communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, suppliers, and management. Ensure every project meets Apex's high standards for quality and craftsmanship. Qualifications Several years of residential construction experience. Previous leadership, foreman, or lead carpenter experience preferred. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and carpentry. Ability to read blueprints and solve problems in the field. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Dependable, motivated, and able to lead by example.
