Custom Home Carpenter

Please read the qualifications carefully below and apply IF you meet the criteria! We are hiring a General carpenter to join our team for the Seattle/Eastside area. We are looking for a carpenter who has mid-to-advanced level carpentry skills and at least Five years experience in the industry, to be the right hand of our site superintendents. They are responsible for reading plans and lining-out subcontractors and crew. About 50% of their time is spent on tools and putting high-quality work in place, while communicating expectations with precision and clarity. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a general carpenter, you'll be responsible for: Performing and assisting with general carpentry tasks including but not limited to: Structural wood framing Assisting in creating site documentation and as-built drawings Estimating materials and time to perform work proposed Hardware prep and installation Site cleanup/protection Supporting subcontractors as directed by the superintendent Opening and closing the job site as requested Working well and coordinating with other team members Participation in quality control for all scopes of work

• self performed as well as subcontracted Collaborate with subcontractors to find solutions; come to superintendent with possible solutions to problems, be willing to come to the table prepared and engaged in the process Being able to run small projects as a working lead; coordinate crew to maximize productivity Working with the superintendent to create daily schedule and take responsibility for its execution Being the company representative when the superintendent is unavailable Discussing work with clients, architects, partners and inspectors with diplomacy, clarity, and patience as necessary Minimizing material use to prevent waste and unnecessary cost Managing material deliveries, handling, storage, and placement Being a positive advocate for safety in action and attitude; reinforce awareness to reduce the risk of injury or citation and know OSHA requirements for your location and site Serve as first point of contact for subcontractor questions Maintaining a safe and secure site (i.

e., ensure safety of all people, tools, and materials) Maintaining effective, respectful communication with field crew, subs, clients, partners, and team, always Maintain accurate documentation in the daily job log

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful as a carpenter with us, you'll need: 5+ years of residential carpentry experience, preferably high-end, specialty homes Broad range of rough carpentry skills from framing up to finish work Working with the full complement of basic tools and specialty tools Reading and interpreting architectural drawings Estimating and communicating small material needs to superintendent Familiarity with a variety of building materials Knowledge of safety and health procedures for location Knowledge of proper use of tools and equipment Excellent communication, team building, and mentoring skills Ability to follow direction and perform work as designated The ability to think ahead and see the big picture. Understand the WHY behind the work and how what you are doing today will impact what is coming next
