Job Description
LEAD CARPENTER POSITION
One Source Custom Construction, LLC (OSCC) is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter with 5 + years' experience.JOB OVERVIEW
This position requires an innate ability to be a self-starter, strong organizational skills, the proven skill to multitask, all while leading a crew in the field. The scope of work varies from large foundation jobs to detailed interior crown molding work. Each project brings its own challenges and requires a lead that can change with the needs daily. Leadership skills and the ability to teach & lead while keeping a job performance pace that has an eye on the bottom line and quality workmanship, are paramount. The lead position is one that requires the ability to read building plans, create take-offs, and input quotes in the QuickBooks system. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills along with superior carpenter skills in all aspects of residential and commercial construction. The goal will be to ensure all projects are completed within the scope of time, follow estimate guidelines, and not exceed the allotted budget whenever possible. Managing and producing a professional, quality job from start to finish while treating our fellow workers and clients well, is always the goal.- Coordinate with Project Manager and employees to ensure a cohesive outcome.
- Determine needed resources (employees, equipment, and materials) for each project
- Responsible for acquiring equipment and materials for completion of job
- Supervise the work product of employees & instruct your team on how to complete tasks properly, efficiently, and Safely
- Provide a safety plan for each project, making sure all individuals on the site comply
- Communicate with the customer and senior staff throughout the project timeline to ensure that details are addressed, and the work is being completed to OSCC and the customer's satisfaction
- Proven experience as construction carpenter (testing is required to apply)
- In depth understanding of construction procedures, materials and equipment needed for any given job; for example - detailed measurements, ability to make compound cuts, mastery of math/geometry
- Knowledge of industry quality, health, and safety standards
- A willingness to learn and to be able to admit when you don't know something (life is a learning curve)
- Outstanding communication skills (with fellow staff and clients)
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner, on or off the job site
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Leadership abilities (experience leading a team is paramount)
- Ability to teach, instruct, demonstrate, and encourage fellow team members
- Able to describe in detail each aspect of the construction process to supervisors, team members and clients
- Superb attention to detail - quality workmanship and care on every project site
