Job Description Summary:
Construct, erect, install, maintain or repair various structures concerned with the construction and maintenance of edifices, facilities, and systems resulting in successful project completion.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Able to perform all essential labor job responsibilities Cut, shape and fasten wood and similar materials Use a wide variety of power and hand tools, to measure, saw, cut, assemble, level and nail wood and other building materials Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub flooring and erect walls and roof systems Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware Interpret blueprints with a high degree of accuracy, verify measurements, determine the integrity of the plans and report mistakes or omissions Use knowledge of the qualities of wood (grain, density, flexibility) to select the best material for the job Provide the physical and technical skills necessary for performing all assignments as directed ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness Accountable for proper and accurate documentation of labor & materials for work performed in accordance with established Company procedures Responsible for job related material estimating and requisition requirements Complete other responsibilities as assigned
SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5 years commercial construction experience High School Diploma or GED Professional trade license Interpreting drawings/blueprints Basic math skills and excellent verbal communication skills Must posses the ability to match existing surfaces in materials, texture and appearance. Frame and finish carpentry experience. Knowledgeable in the use and care of all tools/materials common to the carpentry trade. Working knowledge and ability to comply with current building codes and OSHA regulations.
