Job Description

Modern Interiors LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. We specialize in residential new construction and remodeling projects throughout the Northwoods and are looking for a skilled professional who can independently manage residential projects while leading and working alongside another crew member. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates effectively with homeowners and subcontractors, and can keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Compensation & Benefits Up to $35/hour depending on experience and skill level Paid vacation Paid holidays Retirement plan Full-time, year-round employment Company-provided tools and equipment Stable workload with a growing company Schedule Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Paid 30-minute lunch break No weekend work Responsibilities Lead residential new construction and remodeling projects from start to finish Work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily jobsite operations Supervise and work alongside a crew member to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations Coordinate with subcontractors and management throughout the construction process Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to complete work accurately Perform framing, finish carpentry, siding, trim installation, cabinetry installation, and other residential construction tasks Identify and solve jobsite issues before they impact project timelines Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, and team members Ensure completed work meets company quality standards Qualifications Significant residential carpentry experience required Proven ability to independently run a residential construction or remodeling project Strong knowledge of residential building practices and construction sequencing Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities Reliable transportation to and from work Valid driver's license Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical construction work throughout the day Tools & Transportation Personal transportation required Company provides tools and equipment Employees only need a basic tool belt and standard hand tools Service Area Projects are located within approximately one hour of Rhinelander, with most jobs occurring less than 40 minutes from town.
