Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Weapon Detection K9 Handler to join our teams in The Chicago Suburbs . The ideal candidate will work alongside a trained explosive detection canine to screen for weapon- explosive threat detection services in public institutions, events, and facilities. You will play a critical role in maintaining public safety while working in dynamic environments. Key Responsibilities Conduct daily weapon/explosive detection sweeps in designated areas, including high-traffic facilities, venues, and special events. Safely handle and care for an weapon/explosive detection K9, ensuring their health, ongoing training, and well-being. Perform routine training and exercises to maintain the K9's detection proficiency. Complete detailed reports of activities, findings, and incidents. Collaborate with operations, security personnel, and management teams as needed. Ensure compliance with company and client protocols, as well as local and federal regulations.
Qualifications Experience :
3 years of experience as a K9 Handler, preferably in explosive detection.
Certifications :
Must possess a recognized K9 Explosive Detection Handler certification (ATF, NPWDA, or equivalent) if you currently have a K9. If not you can be paired with a K9, but must have prior certifications.
Licenses :
PERC/Canine Handler Card Holder Preffered, Valid driver's license; ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
Physical Requirements :
Capable of handling a K9 in physically demanding situations.
Skills :
Strong communication, attention to detail, punctuality, customer service, and situational awareness. These positions do not have weekends or holidays. Roughly 7am-3pm daily. Preferred Previous military, law enforcement, and/or K9 detection. Experience working in large metropolitan areas or high-profile venues.

Full-time Pay:
$32.00 - $34.00 per hour
