Flexible Job Summary Intracoastal Diving & Hull Services is seeking a Hull Cleaning Diver to perform underwater hull cleaning and related vessel maintenance services for recreational vessels throughout Hampton Roads and the surrounding coastal region. Work is performed at marinas, yacht clubs, boatyards, and waterfront facilities throughout the region, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, the Eastern Shore, and surrounding coastal communities. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity offering a flexible schedule. Contractors choose their own availability and may work as much or as little as they prefer. Private vessel services are compensated on a commission basis. Commercial diving and special projects are compensated hourly. Compensation is based on experience, reliability, capability, and overall performance. Responsibilities Perform underwater hull cleaning on recreational vessels. Clean vessels thoroughly without causing damage to hulls, running gear, or underwater components. Clean propellers, shafts, rudders, trim tabs, and running gear. Inspect underwater components and identify damage or maintenance concerns. Document findings with photographs and written service notes using the HullTec mobile application. Maintain professional and timely communication with customers and the Intracoastal Diving & Hull Services administrative team. Safely perform diving operations in varying visibility, weather, current, and water conditions. Maintain dive equipment in safe working condition. Requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Own dive equipment and air supply. Reliable transportation. Active cell phone service. Professional communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with customers when needed. Ability to lift and transport dive equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following: Professional hull cleaning Commercial diving Military diving Public safety diving Underwater inspections Running gear cleaning Vessel maintenance Marina or boatyard operations Preferred access to an Apple iPhone or iPad for use with the HullTec mobile application.
