Job Description

Job Title:
Concrete Laborer Job Description This role supports all stages of precast concrete production in a plant environment, from form preparation and reinforcing to concrete placement, stripping, patching, and material handling. You work as part of a team to produce high‑quality precast products safely, efficiently, and according to drawings and build sheets. Responsibilities Prepare and set up formwork by cleaning and oiling forms, placing blockouts and inserts, and installing hardware according to drawings and build sheets. Cut, place, and tie rebar and mesh, and position lifting anchors and connection hardware to the specified locations and tolerances. Assist with concrete batching interface, place and vibrate concrete into forms, and finish surfaces using trowels, floats, and edgers while monitoring curing conditions. Strip and de‑mold precast panels, perform basic patching and finishing, and prepare forms for the next pour. Use hand tools and basic carpentry skills to support production tasks, including layout, measuring, cutting, and assembly. Maintain a clean and organized work area by following housekeeping and 5S practices and supporting daily tool preventive maintenance and standard work. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, powered industrial truck (PIT) rules, crane and rigging guidelines, silica controls, and personal protective equipment requirements in alignment with OSHA and industry best practices. Read and interpret build sheets, basic drawings, and measurements to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with team members and participate in daily huddles to coordinate work, address issues, and support continuous improvement. Cutting/ Tying rebar a MUST! Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
