Job Summary The Structural Concrete Estimator is a key leader within the Industrial Estimating Group, responsible for developing accurate, competitive, turn-key self-perform concrete construction estimates for complex industrial projects. This requires the ability to perform quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment analysis, material pricing, subcontractor evaluations, and risk assessments—for projects up to $75M or higher depending on scope and self‑performance. The Senior Structural Concrete Estimator interprets all concrete drawings, specifications, scope requests and contract documents to build detailed work breakdown structures and precise cost models utilizing self-perform production rates and historical costing information to meet project requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities Project Estimation:
Demonstrated experience producing self‑perform concrete estimates, not subcontracted buy‑outs. Lead preparation of detailed estimates for projects up to $75M, considering complexity and self-performance scope. Oversee discipline estimators on large multi-discipline RFPs. Validate quantity take-offs and ensure accurate input into estimating software. Apply advanced cost analysis and contingency planning for risk mitigation.
Technical Expertise:
Interpret and analyze concrete drawings & specifications and other technical documents. Means & Methods Aptitude Forming systems (gang, jump, handset, specialty) Reinforcing placement and congestion planning Pour sequencing and placement rates Jointing, curing methods, and crack mitigation Winter and hot‑weather concrete practices Ability to interpret geotechnical reports. Utilize HCSS HeavyBid software for accurate and efficient estimating. Understands and properly applies general conditions & indirect labor
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Represent the estimating team in client meetings, pre-bid conferences, and negotiations. Communicate clearly with operations, procurement, and project management teams during pre-construction.
Process Management:
Establish and implement standardized estimating protocols, incorporating pre-estimate checklists and opportunity matrices to ensure consistency and accuracy. Oversee bid review meetings and ensure timely submission of RFIs and proposals. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company standards.
Strategic Contributions:
Provide pragmatic analysis of project execution to optimize efficiency and profitability. Generate high-level cash flow projections, risk analysis reports, and resource-loaded schedules. Support business development with conceptual estimates and ROM pricing for new opportunities. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial construction estimating. Ability to read and interpret drawings and other technical project specifications. Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written. Excellent computer skills including

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related discipline Estimating experience with HCSS HeavyBid Direct Involvement In civil, concrete, structural steel, equipment setting, and mechanical construction. Scheduling experience with MSP or P6. Proven ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously. Work Environment:
Mostly Indoor office setting with controlled temperature. Occasional Outdoor industrial sites with exposure to extreme weather, potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.
Travel requirements:
up to 10% of time. This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
