Experience General Purpose of Position :
Operate the concrete pump. Mobilize to and from job sites to deliver supplies, equipment and/or materials.
Supervision Received:
Daily.
Supervision Exercised :
None.
Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities :
Concrete Pump:
Safely and efficiently operates and maintains concrete pump(s); truck-mounted 32 to 39 meter, trailer and stationery.
Truck mounted:
safely driving to and from the jobsite; proper completion of DOT logbooks, as required.
All types:
proper setup and prep for specific job requirements, including layout of pumping system and connections. Regular preventative and scheduled maintenance of equipment and system. Clean-up protection and stowing of all system and related parts.
Transport Driver:
Drive truck, load and unload contents/equipment, cover and uncover materials, perform emergency roadside repairs.
General Job Duties:
Concrete Pump 1. Complete a pre-pour site inspection, being conscience of hazards; locating the pump safely away from the hazards, but where the pump can still perform safely and efficiently. 2. Stabilize the pump/truck, providing for safe access of mixer-trucks, taking into account soil conditions, underground utilities, and overhead utilities. 3. Set-up pour, making sure all required ground and aerial movement is not hazardous to surrounding properties or any and all personnel. 4. Confirms all hoses, couplers, reducers, and other attachments are in good repair and safe working order and are used properly so as not to create a hazard. 5. Operates pump safely and efficiently at all times and under any condition(s). 6. Cooperates with site and testing personnel to allow for sampling and material adjustments. 7. During and after each pour, cleans all equipment and parts to maintain safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. 8. Performs light maintenance as necessary and in conjunction with trailing. 9. Performing other duties as assigned. Transport Driver 1. Drives transport truck, dump truck, or other truck to transport materials, equipment or supplies to and from specified destinations. 2. Drives truck to destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads. 3. May pull levers, turn cranks, or operate switches to tilt body of dump truck and dump contents. 4. May pull levers, turn cranks, or operate switches to cover or uncover materials with tarping. 5. May use hand and/or foot controls to move truck forward and backward to jar loose materials that may be adhering to the dump body. 6. May load and unload truck. 7. May position with blocks, straps, chains, or other fastener material to secure cargo during transit. 8. Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water, according to DOT regulations. 10. Adjusts brakes as required by the truck specifications. 11. Maintains truck log and/or daily vehicle inspection reports, according to state and federal regulations. 12. May prepare receipts, bills of lading, or other paperwork for load. 13. May maintain telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. 14. May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs or tire chains.
Position Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience:
Verifiable experience operating a boom, stationary or trailer pump. 2 years transport experience preferred. 2. Minimum Required Skills, Ability, Licensing, Certification, Training, etc.: Class A CDL and medical card. Must be familiar with equipment and pump safety operating procedures. Good public relations skills, ability to represent employer in positive manner. 3. Tools, Equipment, or Machines Required to
Operate:
Semi-trucks with trailers, heavy equipment, concrete equipment, forklift, concrete pump, and boom truck. Basic hand tools and toolbox for maintenance or repairs of equipment; gloves and approved hardhat. 4.
Testing Requirements :
Concrete or grout pumping operations; legible writing abilities. 5.
Physical Requirements:
a.
General :
Walk, sit or stand for extended times; sit, climb in/out/over equipment, utilizing ladders; uses hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or tools and operate from remote locations, utilizing wired or wireless devices; reaches with hands and arms; talks, listens, hears, reads, sees, lifts, kneel, crawl, bends, drags heavy hoses, climb in/out, on/off equipment carrying load binders or chains, walking and/or driving over rough, uneven, and possibly slippery roads or terrain. b.
Lifting :
80 # requirement at one time, multiple times daily, reaching above head to unlock cover and move 15-pound load binders, several times daily. c. Exposure to
Elements :
Sun, wind, dust, rain, mud, snow, ice, cold, heat; dry and ready mix concrete; chemical additives and other cementitous-based materials; high-pressure hoses; solvent, grease, oil, paint, cleaning materials and noise. d.
Handling of Dangerous Equipment :
Operation of heavy equipment; pressurized concrete and hydraulic lines or hoses; driving large trucks daily in traffic and/or on construction sites; interacting with other materials, machinery and equipment on construction sites. Transporting, loading, and unloading cumbersome and/or unbalanced material or supplies. All industry and safety requirements apply. e.
Other Hazardous Working Conditions:
Cold weather conditions, blizzards, floods, fires, wind. Highway safety conditions and heavy equipment operational hazards; overhead obstructions and power lines. 6.
Scheduled Work Hours:
Typically, 6-7:00am to 3-4:00pm, ½ hour for lunch, two 10-minute breaks, unless otherwise specified and if operations allow. Hours will vary and out of town work will apply. 7.
Judgment/Decision Making :
Safety always. Interaction with subcontractors, customers, laborers, material suppliers, other large equipment and operators, and general contractors. Communication with project managers, project superintendents and foremen on issues, especially as relates to safety. Maintain a focused ability to respond in an organized, orderly, efficient, sane, and timely manner.

Position Receives Direction From :
President, VP of Operations. Other supervision may be received.
Position Directs :
Laborer or other assigned personnel.
