Job Title:
Project Manager - Precast Concrete Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of precast concrete projects from project acceptance through production, delivery, and final completion. This individual will serve as the central point of coordination between sales, engineering, production, dispatch, contractors, and customers to ensure projects are manufactured accurately, delivered on time, and executed efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and construction environment, understands project scheduling, and can proactively solve operational challenges while maintaining strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Manage precast concrete projects from order entry through final delivery and project closeout Coordinate with internal production teams to schedule manufacturing based on customer deadlines and plant capacity Review project drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for accuracy prior to production Work closely with engineering and drafting teams to ensure shop drawings are approved on schedule Communicate daily with contractors, municipalities, engineers, and customers regarding project timelines and status updates Coordinate with dispatch and logistics teams to schedule deliveries efficiently and minimize delays Monitor production schedules and proactively identify bottlenecks that could impact deadlines Track project progress and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget expectations Manage change orders, project revisions, and customer modifications throughout the project lifecycle Resolve field issues, delivery conflicts, product discrepancies, and customer concerns quickly and professionally Maintain project documentation including purchase orders, contracts, drawings, submittals, and delivery records Partner with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff from the quote stage into production execution Participate in weekly production meetings and help prioritize manufacturing schedules based on project demands Ensure quality standards and company manufacturing procedures are followed throughout project execution Required Qualifications 3+ years of project management experience in precast concrete, construction materials, civil infrastructure, manufacturing, or related industries Strong understanding of construction project schedules and coordination between multiple stakeholders Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and project specifications Excellent communication skills with contractors, engineers, municipalities, and internal teams Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously Ability to prioritize production schedules in a manufacturing environment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick operational decisions under pressure Preferred Qualifications Experience in the precast concrete industry or with products such as storm structures, box culverts, utility vaults, catch basins, manholes, and custom precast structures Familiarity with DOT, municipal, and infrastructure construction projects Knowledge of reinforced concrete manufacturing processes Understanding of production scheduling and logistics coordination Experience working directly with general contractors and civil contractors Key Performance Metrics Success in this role will be measured by: On-time project completion percentage Manufacturing schedule efficiency Delivery accuracy and reduction of scheduling conflicts Reduction in project delays and production bottlenecks Customer satisfaction and repeat business Internal communication effectiveness between departments Change order management and overall project profitability What We're Looking For We need someone who can act as the operational quarterback of the project process — someone who can keep production moving, coordinate departments effectively, solve problems quickly, and ensure customers receive products accurately and on time. This is a hands-on role requiring strong communication, urgency, accountability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
