Mid America Contractors is looking for an experienced Concrete Worker/Finisher to join our crew. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of concrete-related tasks that contribute to the successful completion of commercial projects. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency on every site. Duties Perform demo work and site prep as needed. Mix, pour, and finish concrete for foundations, slabs, driveways, sidewalks, and other structures with precision and care Install rebar and metal supports to reinforce concrete structures according to schematics and blueprints Signal concrete truck drivers for positioning; pour, spread, and vibrate concrete to eliminate air pockets. Operate power tools and heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and compactors safely and efficiently Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately Set up formwork using carpentry skills including framing, trim carpentry, and concrete forming techniques Perform rebar installation and metal stud framing to ensure structural integrity Apply finishing techniques such as troweling, caulking, plastering, stucco application, and flooring installation to achieve smooth surfaces Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols on construction sites Assist with renovation or restoration projects by removing old materials and preparing surfaces for new concrete applications Operate heavy machinery like forklifts or cranes when necessary for material handling or concrete pumping Skills Mechanical knowledge of construction tools and equipment operation Expertise in rebar installation, concrete finishing, and form setting processes Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy machinery operation Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout long shifts Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and OSHA standards
