In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality masonry initially building concrete block walls at a commercial renovation site (possibly a small amount of residential). Your expertise will help bring architectural and/or engineering visions to life through precise concrete block installation and related craftsmanship. Duties Construct and install concrete blocks, and other masonry units following blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings with precision and efficiency. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary materials such as mortar or caulking to ensure durable and aesthetically pleasing finishes. Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely to complete masonry tasks effectively. Install rebar reinforcement for structural integrity in concrete forms and ensure proper placement according to engineering specifications (if applicable). Perform concrete finishing tasks including pouring, smoothing, troweling, and sealing to achieve smooth surfaces suitable for various applications. Read blueprints and schematics accurately to interpret project requirements and execute tasks accordingly. Assist with demolition, restoration, or renovation projects by applying skills in metal stud framing, or roofing (demolition) as needed. Collaborate with the owner to coordinate tasks efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or cranes when required for material handling or project setup. Concrete driveway and/or apron installation would be a plus. Qualifications Proven experience as a journeyman mason with expertise in bricklaying and concrete block installation. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and material calculations. Skilled in concrete forming techniques and finishing methods for various project types. Proficient in rebar installation, metal stud framing, welding, and schematics reading. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation relevant to masonry work. Ability to interpret blueprints accurately and follow technical instructions. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols and quality standards. Knowledge of restoration techniques including plastering, stucco application, caulking, roofing, and renovation work. Excellent hand tool and power tool skills for precise craftsmanship in masonry projects. Join our team if you're passionate about building durable structures with attention to detail!
