Job Description
Overview Hummel Construction is a non-union contractor and we're hiring a Concrete Finisher, with experience. You will be responsible for forming, shaping, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces to create durable, high-quality structures. Responsibilities Prepare concrete surfaces by leveling, smoothing, and finishing with hand tools and power tools to achieve a flawless appearance. Install rebar and metal supports according to schematics and blueprints to reinforce concrete structures. Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and other machinery safely and efficiently on construction sites. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise concrete forms and layouts. Apply finishing techniques including troweling, caulking, plastering, and stucco work to ensure smooth surfaces. Assist in the installation of hardscape elements like walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other masonry features. Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to coordinate tasks during renovation or new construction projects. Qualifications Experience required. Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or carpentry. Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, equipment operation (including heavy lifting), and safety protocols. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, pumps, and other construction machinery. Knowledge of rebar installation, form building, flooring installation, tile laying, roofing support systems, and metal stud framing is highly desirable. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or working at heights; ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
