Concrete Finisher

Position Summary Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete - such as floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs - to specified textures utilizing hand or power tools using floats, trowels, and screeds with little to no supervision. Constructs built-in-place or prefabricated wood forms. Responsibilities Finish concrete, including but not limited to shaping curbs, floating slabs, and brooming surfaces Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency using screeds and floats Smooth and shapes freshly poured concrete using straightedges, floats, power screeds, and trowels. Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using grinders or chisels. Molds expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedges Constructs, anchors, and braces built-in-place or prefabricated wooden or Simmons forms Ensures workmanship is accurate and of the highest quality Complies with and takes responsibility for all company safety requirements and policies Performs other duties as assigned Environmental Conditions Exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and wet conditions for extended periods Variable noise levels, from quiet to loud Exposure to dust and fumes Physical Demands Walking and standing on various surfaces, both indoors and outdoors On feet for extended periods, up to 12-hour shifts Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, crawling, balancing, pushing, and pulling Manual dexterity, including pinching, grasping, grabbing, and holding Frequently moves and carries items weighing 50 to 100 pounds, with or without assistance Requires depth perception and the ability to see fine visual details Qualifications Demonstrated skill in concrete forming, pouring, and finishing.

• Ability to instruct and direct the work of skilled and unskilled workers
• Knowledge and proper use of all safety devices and general safe work practices
• Works with a sense of urgency and accountability Ability to perform tasks accurately without repeated instruction and meet project schedules Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks according to project timelines Works well with others and is a team player Willingness to travel for out-of-town work is preferred Required Tools
